Mendou Gou - The Hidden Gem Ramen Shop in Saga with a Reputation for 10 Yen Extra Serving Noodles

Mendou Gou, nestled in a residential area of Ogi City, is a hidden gem ramen shop beloved by the locals. Its charm lies in the incredibly affordable price of 10 yen for an extra serving of noodles (kaedama).

The Enchanting Drama of 10 Yen Extra Serving Noodles

A glance at Mendou Gou's menu will immediately catch your eye with the words '10 yen extra serving noodles'. This incredibly reasonable pricing could be considered a friend of the common people, and you can imagine people eagerly reaching for their serving trays. By ordering an extra serving of noodles, you can enjoy twice the amount of noodles immersed in a richly flavored soup.

Surprisingly Light Soup

Apart from the extra serving noodles, the charm also lies in the ramen's soup. While the menu may indicate 'rich', the actual taste gives a surprisingly light impression. The contrast might puzzle some customers, but the refreshing seasoning is perfect for the summer. Adding red chili peppers as an accent enhances the deliciousness even more.

Excellent Quantity and Quality of Ingredients

Mendou Gou's ramen is appealing not only for its noodles and soup, but also for the abundance and quality of its ingredients. The chashu (sliced roasted pork) in particular is tender and generously portioned, providing a satisfying amount in a single serving.

Whether for locals or as a stopover during sightseeing in Saga, Mendou Gou's ramen comes highly recommended. Why not take advantage of the extra serving noodles to savor a bowl full of satisfaction?

I visited for the first time because I was attracted by the word that the substitute balls are 10 yen. I ordered the ``rich'' pork belly pork (medium), but after taking a sip of the soup, I was like, ``huh?'' The soup itself is completely smooth and light. It doesn't feel heavy at all. However, the taste was delicious and the chashu was very filling👍 I'm really happy with the extra 10 yen extra balls these days, but I wish they would serve the ramen exactly as written on the menu.

This is a store that is easy for even one person to enter. I received the gourmet chashu noodles. Large and soft with a rich soup Satisfied with the char siu🍜 I'm happy to have a replacement ball of 10 yen. I'm full😊

The extra 10 yen is attractive! ! Still, I don't think I want to go again. I ordered the Gou Ramen which was described as "rich". Looks great when it arrives. However, when I drank the soup, it was so light that I doubted it. The soup was light and had a bit of sweetness, although it varied in its richness depending on the restaurant, and went well with the red pepper provided. In addition to ramen, they also have champon, small snacks for the evening, and alcohol.

Visited the store through an introduction from a friend 🚗💨 ``I guess it's Go Ramen (Normal), which is the name of the restaurant,'' he said, ordering ramen and gyoza. There are so many toppings on it that I'm excited even before I eat it♪ However, since it's Kurume ramen (I don't like thick soup), I put a little effort into it and took a sip of the soup. Surprisingly easy to drink, I like it 👍 Plenty of my favorite wood ear fungus ❤️ The gyoza are crispy on the outside ❗️ Juicy on the inside ❗️ Take out 20 pieces 🛍️ I'm very happy that my good friends saw me off with a smile 👍 Next time, I think I'll go eat Champon on my way to Hasamiyaki Pottery Market in the fall~⤴️
