I was initially quite disappointed as when we arrived the apartment smelt quite bad (the owner said a septic line runs by the apartment). I don't know if we just got used to the smell or it dissipated a bit but it became tolerable. The room didn't look much like the photos. I thought initially it was quite tiny but over time I realized it was spacious for tokyo. We booked a room for 4 people so I assumed we would get a room with a table and 4 chairs however there was only a small desk and 1 chair. They did bring us some more chairs but there wasn't really anywhere to eat. I wanted another pillow but was told I would have to pay for it. The drying function of the washer does not work properly. Following instructions precisely it worked maybe once and only with 5 small pieces of socks, underwear. Otherwise no matter how many drying cycles we just ended up with damp smelly clothes. We had to constantly rewash clothing and have clothing hung up all over the place to dry which I was not expecting to have to do. There are no bedside tables which is strange. At least having one between the beds would be a big improvement. Positive points: I slept well every night. There was lots of storage. It was great having a kitchen and utensils to cook food. The bathroom is nice and newish. The owner is quick to respond to emails. Nakano is a really nice area outside of busy tourist areas but still with lots of eateries and shopping nearby. Easy train to shinjuku etc. We were sad to leave.

Great location near Nakano station. Many great eating places nearby. Apartment was spacious and clean. Missing a chopping board which we just bought a 200yen one for use and leave for next visitors.

Aileen’s place at Nakano Court Residence is excellent - location wise, comfort wise. It is large enough for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids below 12), allowing for us to open up 2 check-in sized luggages and still have a bit of walking space It is well equipped with a washing machine and the clothes dryer in the shower works wonders - allowing us to spend our time touring, rather than scouring and sharing and waiting on public washing facilities. It also has a fridge and freezer, microwave and 1 cook top The walk to Nakano Station is just a casual 4-5 min stroll and plenty of people walk to and fro the streets (even at 10pm), so it felt pretty safe. Being near Nakano Station served to be very convenient as it links directly to the Yamanote Line, which then brings you wherever you need to go to around Tokyo. Aileen’s place is also within 3-4 mins walking distance to Nakano Broadway (which comprises a few rows of shops, eateries, Japanese whisky shops and 2 pet shops (which the kids loved)). Restaurants here have quality food priced from about 800Yen that could fill you up nice and good. I saw about 3-4 Family Marts (which are like 7-11’s but with cooked food too and coffee machines) within the vicinity - so there is absolutely way you’ll be hungry. And in case you ever need 1, I did see a pretty fancy dentistry and Accountant’s office on the way to Nakano Station 🙂 All up, I’d say Aileen’s place is in a sweet spot ie in a peaceful, suburban area just 4-5mins from fun and exciting Nakano Broadway and Nakano Station Highly recommend

Incredible location! Very quiet but easy access to everything. Nice room, but kind of tight even by Japanese standards but big enough for one or two guests. Comfortable bed, great air conditioning/heater, kitchen well equipped for simple cooking.

It can't be more pleasant staying at Aileen and naoki place, everything is exactly as described! My fav is the dryer at the bathroom...you can simply wash your clothes everyday! Location is very near to nakano station and easy to travel to anywhere in Tokyo. Definetely will stay again for the next Japan visit.
