It has a lot of good things about it... The location is great, so close to such a convenient station and lots of shops! The rooms are very clean and the general feel of the whole place is quirky and friendly. The staff were nice and helpful too whenever I came to reception with any issues! However The biggest issue was the ground floor sofa bed in the 3 person rooms. It's actually -just a sofa- it isn't a proper mattress like the 2 beds upstairs. And it was SOOOO hard!! I even tried to pad it out with extra pillows and anything soft I had but my back was killing me after just the first night and I slept so poorly. The staff were kind and they tried to help by providing an extra sheet to lay on the bottom to help make it softer, but it didn't make much difference. I had 5 nights of terrible sleep and I actually couldn't wait to get home to a real bed. Other small things let it down too, like how cramped the rooms were, we were always climbing round each other and bumping our heads on the low ceiling. Also you get given a kettle but no tea or coffee? There wasn't even any in the lobby to take, just some for sale in a vending machine which was in the laundry room. It was quite an expensive room so it felt a bit unfair, especially since even the cheapest of places I stayed at before this hotel gave you free hot drinks. If you don't have to suffer a 3 person room with the sofa bed that's as hard as concrete, this might actually be a nice stay, so don't let this review put you off - as the normal beds were very comfortable.

This modern hotel was easy to find as we arrived by train at Otsuka Station. A quiet neighborhood with plenty of its own attractions. We would travel by train to our sightseeing in the morning and come back to the hotel in the afternoon for a nap or bath before going out to walk the streets of otsuka before going to bed. The hotel staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions. They had umbrellas for us to use on our rainy day. The room was cozy and refreshed us for our adventures. The bunk/loft layout of our room made it easy for me to take a nap while my partner worked on his computer. It was almost like having 2 rooms. I would definitely stay at an omo hotel again!

Beyond amazing, thank you to all the wonderful staff who made for a great time in Tokyo! The rooms were very comfortable, as was the main lobby. The nightly DJ sessions as well as the breakfasts were an absolute delight - all of the kitchen staff couldn’t have been more lovely. Only piece of feedback would be to better-advertise the availability of the OMO tours as we weren’t able to attend any :( Also, it would be worth installing USB ports into rooms as in many of the other OMO hotels to improve sustainability. Little, but would improve an already great hotel!!

We had a wonderful stay at OMO5: The room design is unique, everything was very comfy and clean. The staff was always lovely, and the breakfast was always a highlight! In the evening the lobby turns into a very chill DJ Night, which we really enjoyed over some sake affogato (the spring special offered at the bar). This was our first hotel in Japan, and OMO5 has definitely set the bar high!

A really interesting designer hotel, great rooms with a chill out lounge under the raised beds in Japanese style. Good location, just 1 min walk to the station. (JR Yamanote Line, Green) Close to some great Sushi, Yakatori restaurants, cafes etc. We did 5 days touring of Tokyo and this was a great base to explore this amazing city. Highly recommended and good value in Tokyo.
