Matoi Sushi is located on the second floor of a small old building in the center of Tomie, a 25-minute taxi ride from Fukue Port, the gateway to the sea. There is no elevator, so take the stairs to the second floor and you will see a noren curtain that marks the entrance. Please be careful as it is so inconspicuous that you won't notice it unless you enter the address in your car navigation system. Free parking is available on the first floor of the building. I think you can park a total of 4 cars. I've been here many times and have never been unable to park in the parking lot. When you enter the store, the general will come out leisurely. It doesn't have an aggressive and tense atmosphere, but rather a laid-back atmosphere typical of country sushi. This is a shop run by my wife and I. You will be served sushi made with the chef's special care. There are table seats in the center, about 5 seats at the counter, and about 20 tatami rooms. There are basically no tourists here, and the restaurant is loved by locals for parties and other occasions. If you have a party, you may be turned away, so it might be a good idea to call ahead. The nigiri comes with plenty of fresh, lively ingredients purchased directly from fishermen. The sushi in the photo is omakase and costs about 1,900 yen. I have never encountered sushi with such high cost performance. I often go to Goto for work, and I've been to more than 10 sushi restaurants in Goto so far, but this is the best at Butchigiri. Please come here when you go to Fukue! I don't think you will regret it!

20 years ago, Takami worked at Tomie High School for two years, and every time I took him out for sushi, he kept saying, ``Tomie's Matoi sushi was better.'' I was finally able to visit you. In one word, it's amazing! ! I'm in my 50s, and I was proud of having been to many decent sushi restaurants in Tokyo, but I realized once again that sushi made with locally caught fish is truly delicious. In Goto, there is a custom of eating not only fish, but also meat, eggs, vegetables, and other locally caught foods, all of which are of extremely high quality, making it a great place for foodies. The master talked to me about various things, including old stories, and it was a truly rewarding time. We look forward to your next visit!

It's very delicious. The toppings are large and filling. It's hard to find as it's on the second floor, but it's definitely a store you should go to!
