Sakaenoyashiro Shrine enshrines three significant figures deeply connected to Fukui's history: Tokugawa Ieyasu, Matsudaira Hideyasu, and Matsudaira Yoshinaga (Shungaku). Formerly known as the "Echizen Toshogu," it continues to proudly retain its heritage as a place connected to Tokugawa Ieyasu.
The approximately 250,000 folded cranes before the main hall captivate visitors. Arranged in rainbow colors, the cranes symbolize wishes for peace and hope. At night, they are illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere.
