This may well be a case of me not having done my homework in advance, but I cannot recommend anything about this hotel. The location is isolated and, although it's within walking distance of the touristy parts of Arishiyama and the monkey park, there are very few restaurants open for dinner nearby and nothing to do after dark. The room felt like a cell; the bed was a rock; the lone chair was hard; the bathroom was very small; the shower head was awful. Breakfast was just a bit of a joke. It was a small selection of mediocre bread options, juice boxes and coffee that you had to eat in your room. Basically, it was just enough to hold you until you could go somewhere for breakfast. Maybe this place works for some folks but I left two days earlier than planned and ate the lost money to get away.

Rooms are a little smaller than before. Was told they had renovated and probably reconfigured to carve out more rooms. Overall their service is excellent and rooms are clean. Some access to outdoor space from room would be great. And its a Pet friendly hotel!!! Have seen many paw guests checking in and out.

Very clean and nice place. It's less than 5 min walk from togetsu-kyo bridge through their back entrance so it's really convenient. It was very quiet and beds were really comfortable. Rooms are really new and spacious, there's a small kitchen with a microwave and fridge and a dining area. There's a bathtub which helps after a long day walking in arashiyama. Hotel breakfast was simple but adequate with free flow pastries/bread, coffee and juice.

Visited October 1st-2nd. Front desk employees are nice, and there is free coffee in the lobby. We reserved a room on the 3rd floor and it was pretty small but modern and cozy. There is a small back entrance for easy access to the bridge
