A hidden little gem of a restaurant tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The sushi was fresh and delicious and the chawanmushi (egg custard) was melt in your mouth fantastic!! And the price was very inexpensive! The chef and his wife speak a little English. My partner and I had a most delightful first meal in Japan here! Highly recommend!

It's a local sushi restaurant. It feels like a neighborhood old man's place. The owner can only speak Japanese, but they have an English menu, which is nice!

When I came to Kyoto, I spent several hours struggling with accommodation reservation issues. After many twists and turns, we found a place to stay, packed our bags, and went out to have a quick dinner. I happened to find a nearby restaurant on Google Maps and came here. The moment I opened the door, the owner greeted me warmly, which made me feel a little better. Take a seat and order beer and food. While I sat and waited, other customers around me started talking to me. Everyone was friendly and very kind. The moment the sushi came out and I put a piece in my mouth, I felt like all the fatigue of the day was gone. The store owner and all the customers were very kind. I was able to finish dinner happily. The atmosphere, taste, and friendliness were all perfect.
