#The Charm of Kyoto - Nostalgic Chinese Noodles

In Kyoto, there are many hidden gem Chinese noodle shops that retain the traditional taste. One of them is the 'Emen' located in Kamigyo-ku. This small shop offers a unique Chinese noodle experience that is typical of Kyoto.

##Richness of Lard and Smoothness of Noodles

The Chinese noodles at Emen are known for the flavor of lard and the creamy soup. The noodles are soft and intertwine well with the soup. Despite its simple flavor, it is full of nostalgia and a sense of reassurance.

##Nostalgic Interior and the Master's Personality

The interior of the shop has an old-fashioned atmosphere, and time seems to pass by slowly. The owner's reserved aura matches well with the retro flavor of the Chinese noodles. However, in reality, the owner treats each person with care, leaving a strong impression of a warm personality.

##Service with a Smile

In the small shop, the calm waiting service creates a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The limited number of customers with children may be part of creating such a peaceful atmosphere.

For those seeking the nostalgic taste of Kyoto, Emen is the ultimate recommended spot. You're sure to enjoy the Chinese noodles and leave with a smile on your face.

Loved the simple, unassuming back-in-time atmosphere and very flavorful and plentiful ramen with ticket machine ordering. One old fellah on his own, chief cook and bottle-washer, “old school” direct and orderly service. Don’t expect any airs and graces! Hai!!!

Old school no frills place - ramen was great and one of the best that we’ve experienced so far in Kyoto.

We loved the ramen. The broth was tasty and full of flavor and you get a lot of noodles. I made the mistake of adding more noodles but it was really not needed!
