Tomiya Inn stands in a peaceful fishing village in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. This old Japanese inn retains the charm of the Taisho era and serves as a luxurious hideaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Surrounded by the original scenery of Japan, you can spend a tranquil moment.
The inn was rebuilt from a late Edo period old house and has been used as a fisherman's house until after the war. The red tiles on the roof, the white-painted exterior walls, the wooden lattice doors, and more, all convey the ambiance of that time to the present day. In the courtyard, a magnificent old cherry tree blooms, and you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing in spring.
Inside the inn, there is a pure Japanese-style space filled with the scent of tatami. There are two connecting guest rooms, one with an 8-tatami mat and the other with a 6-tatami mat, complete with an alcove, where you can leisurely relax and lose track of time. The greenery of the courtyard and the enchanting scenery at dusk seen through the large windows leave a strong impression.
This region is blessed with the delicacies of the sea and mountains. At the inn, you can enjoy home-cooked dishes made with fresh seafood unique to the fishing village. You can also taste the fresh vegetables harvested from the nearby mountains. Handmade pickled plums and pickles served at breakfast are also recommended.
Escape from the everyday and experience Japan's original scenery and traditional culture. Why not create unforgettable memories at the dreamy Tomiya Inn?
