Located in northern part of Okinawa Main Island, in Kunigami District, Kouri Village, is Kouri Island. The "Heart Rock Koi-nobori Temple" standing along the coast is a place known as a sacred place for lovers alongside the heart-shaped natural rock "Heart Rock".
Inside the temple grounds, two rocks with a shape similar to the Heart Rock are enshrined. The origin of it has a sad yet charming love story passed down.
On the way to Heart Rock, you can park your car in the temple's parking lot. The parking fee is only 100 yen, making it reasonable. It's not far on foot from here to Heart Rock.
After visiting the temple, head straight to the nearby Heart Rock. Depending on the angle and position, it may take some ingenuity to capture the perfect shot of the heart shape.
Heart Rock and Koi-nobori Temple are representative "Power Spot of Love" in Okinawa. Please fully enjoy the romantic landscape woven by nature and people's faith.
