Koshin-zuka Kofun, located in Higashikashiwara Shinden, Fuji City, is a rare-shaped kofun built about 1500 years ago in the Kofun period. This shape, called Sotofu Nakagata Kofun, is a rare existence in the country.
Unfortunately, half of this kofun has been cut by the construction of the Tokaido Line, but part of it still remains in the forest. There is a shrine and a stone monument on the top of the kofun, giving a historical atmosphere.
When visiting the kofun, please pass through the small path between the signboard of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries project and the greenhouse. When you reach the top, you can see the kofun surrounded by trees up close. However, because no excavation has been conducted, the details are unknown.
The Sotofu Nakagata Kofun is a rare existence in the country. This will be a good opportunity to reminisce about the life and culture of that time. How about quietly visiting the kofun while feeling the history?
