Gorilla Ramen, a long-established ramen shop founded 47 years ago, quietly stands in a residential area of Fuchu City, Tokyo. As the name suggests, the main menu is the spicy "Gorilla Ramen". Despite its spicy appearance, the spiciness is actually mild, and you can enjoy the sweetness of the vegetables and a mellow flavor.
The soup of Gorilla Ramen has a mysterious flavor that combines a slightly spicy kick with a rich umami. It has a flavor reminiscent of Taiwanese ramen, but the owner's dedicated sauce and secret aromatic ingredients add an exquisite accent. The creamy texture with beaten egg and the addictive flavor that grows on you as you drink are exceptional.
The medium-thick straight noodles have a chewy texture unique to homemade noodles. The round gyoza and the char siu of the braised pork are superb, enhancing the flavor of the ramen with the crispness of the vegetables and the richness of the meat. By adding the spicy miso at the table, it transforms into a rich and punchy flavor.
The interior has only 8 counter seats and small table seats, maintaining a nostalgic atmosphere. It is a popular shop with a line forming at the opening, but it still exudes a calm atmosphere.
During peak hours, there is a wait of about 30 minutes, but it is a good opportunity to carefully consider the menu. Look forward to a luxurious encounter with authentic hand-made noodles.
The nearest station is Shiroi Itadai Station on the Seibu Tamagawa Line. It is located about a 15-minute walk away, and there is parking space for about 10 cars in front of the store.
You are sure to encounter an Instagrammable and unique bowl that stands out in any season. Please look forward to the taste of this long-established shop.
