Friendly staffs, excellent activities that hotel hosted/created, good location, nice facilities- after 8 days-stay, I'm really reluctant to go home, having a extraordinary travel experience here, thank you and wish I could be back soon.

The good: Dinner at Otto Sette was great and we appreciated how the restaurant accommodated request for non-meat meal (they made some creative replacements for the meat-based dishes). The female sommelier was also very friendly and knowledgable - course dinner and the wine paring was overall good value for money. The bad: The facilities are a bit dated and the room was not very impressive. Not terrible but super basic. Also, despite being in beautiful Yatsugatake there is no part of the facility where you can take in the surrounding views. So we may as well have been in some random woods in the Tokyo suburbs. Overall, I did not think the stay was good value for money as everything besides Otto Sette was overpriced (including the room) and would not stay here again.

From Tokyo I went with my JP wife after she got interested looking the photos. Quite troublesome if you go by train, a couple at station information point, they had a car and friendly gave us a lift to there. Over there amazing nothing, just an isolated conference building. My wife and I had nothing to do and made a game to find the places and particular spot the company and people put to invite visitors. All "cold, sad gray" reinforced concrete building, it really reminded me Italy cemeteries, we stuck there one weekend missing our house. We meet again the other JP vuole as well disappointed. The room, and food no wort the overall much money. As a amateur architectonic photographer, we went there for me enjoy shooting. I saved my SD memory. We just spent time to go back at our apartment, later realized that many other places are just popular thanks well done photographed spots. For meetings it may be acceptable.

Not really a dog-friendly place... We went there together with our two dogs and stayed for two nights. On the website it was advertised as a place you can enjoy with your dogs but that isn't really true. First of all, the hotel was completely crowded with lots of children which isn't an ideal environment for most dogs. Second, there were no facilities for dogs. No dog run or anything else a dog would have enjoyed. Third, the restaurant has a table for customers with dogs but after our dog barked once (because a child was running towards it) we were told to bring our dogs back to our room. It totally makes sense that barking would annoy other customers but the restaurant was full of screaming, crying and running children which were never told to be quiet. For families it might be a good place to stay at but I don't recommend it to any dog owner. The room was very spacious but the bathroom was disappointing. Small shower and small bathtub, not really what I was expecting for the price we paid. The spa was very small considering the amount of people staying there. The hotel has a very big pool which was great for all the children there

One of my favorite hotels in Japan. Staff is very friendly. There are some nice free services for the guests, such as local wine tasting at lobby, forest guide walk in the morning, public bath(in-side and out-side), indoor pool , take-out coffee and so on. If breakfast in YY grill is included in your stay, you can enjoy variety of fresh local vegetables and fruits. My family has visited this hotel many times and it’s always satisfactory for us. There is shuttle bus from Kobuchizawa station.
