Located in Mikuni Town, Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture, Fukura Falls is a small waterfall at the end of the Ariso Promenade beyond Tojinbo. Although modest in size, its beauty in harmony with the surrounding nature soothes the hearts of visitors.
Currently, access from the Tojinbo side is difficult due to the aging bridge, so an approach from the opposite side is required. This slightly troublesome access might actually enhance the sense of adventure.
Near the waterfall, there is a statue that appears to be a Jizo. This spot, where nature and faith converge, has been cherished by the locals for a long time.
Surrounded by the nature that changes with each season, Fukura Falls shows different faces depending on the time of year. Especially during the fresh green season and the autumn leaves season, it becomes a spectacular view in harmony with the surrounding scenery.
Currently, part of the promenade is unusable, but considering the presence of nearby resort hotels, maintenance might be carried out in the future. Please check the latest information and pay close attention to safety when you visit.
Fukura Falls is a hidden gem that sets itself apart from well-maintained tourist spots. The challenging access stirs the spirit of adventure, providing a unique experience for those who visit. For nature lovers and photography enthusiasts, it is indeed a hidden jewel.
